I
have over 12 years of experience in public schools. While I have served
in many capacities—district-level technology coordinator, grant writer,
building technology facilitator, and district technology trainer—the
position that most impacts what I do and who I am, is that of classroom
teacher. I remember this all-consuming job clearly, and design professional
development experiences to really meet the needs of classroom teachers.
I do this by modeling how various educational theories—constructivism, cooperative learning, multiple intelligences, brain-based learning, differentiation—actually look in a classroom. Combined with research-based instructional strategies and educational technology, I encourage teachers to take what they already know and apply it in a different way with their students. This isn’t about doing more, it’s about tying it all together to get the best results. |
